Getting Here is Half the Fun!
No matter where you’re coming from, you’ll have an adventurous drive on scenic mountain roads down into beautiful Hickory Nut Gorge. For maps and specific driving directions visit our Directions page.
When you arrive at the Park gates in Chimney Rock Village, proceed across the wooden bridge and continue one mile up to the Ticket Plaza. From the Ticket Plaza, it’s two more miles to the upper parking lot, elevator, trails, and the Chimney. No walking or biking is allowed on the road up the mountain because it’s curvy and narrow. Please drive safely.
Staying the Night?
Check out Area Information for great places to shop, eat, sleep, and play. The Park has partnered with several hotels, motels, and B&B’s to create Package Deals that include overnight accommodations, tickets to the Park, and other goodies, food and fun things to do at a great price! Packages are booked at participating accommodations.
Bringing Your Group?
We host a variety of groups including educational field trips, scout troops, churches, family and military reunions, car clubs, weddings and corporate outings. We are happy to customize special programs and events to meet your needs. Visit our Groups section to see all we have to offer.
