Winter Break Family Fun
Time: 2pm daily
Cost: Included with Park Admission

Winter is the perfect time for exploring the Park. Leafless trees make for more places to enjoy the views and picture taking. Chimney Rock celebrates this winter break by offering our popular Family Animal Encounters for this one week, too. Join us daily at 2pm to hear what our Animal Educators would be doing if they were still living on the wilder side during these chillier months ahead.

Saturday, December 29

Naturalist Niche: Winter Tree ID
Time: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Cost: $23 Adult, $8 Annual Passholder,; Advance registration required

It’s no surprise that recognizing trees without their leaves can be tricky! Bark, twigs and buds are your best tools when familiarizing yourself with our woody friends this time of year. Join naturalist and author Ron Lance to demystify the art of knowing your trees no matter the season. This hike is considered moderate.

We  love our visitor’s furry friends, but we do understand that some hike participants may consider animals a distraction on the trail. Pets are not allowed on Naturalist Niche hikes because of this. Hikes are geared for adults.

Space is limited to 15. Please use the link below to register. Cost includes Park admission for the day.
