Park Will Remained Closed Until Further Notice

Making the decision about whether to reduce the amenities offered or close the Chimney Rock section of Chimney Rock State Park has been a very difficult one and has not been taken lightly.
Chimney Rock is not a typical NC state park. There are a lot of ways that guests and Park associates must interact with one another during a visit. After much deliberation, Chimney Rock Management has decided that the most responsible thing to do is to close the Park until it is deemed safe to reopen.
We encourage folks to stay home and help stop the spread of this pandemic so that everyone can remain healthy and get back to school and work as soon as possible. Even though we offer a way to get outside and breathe the fresh air, we feel that following the recommendations of the CDC and NC Department of Health and Human Services to stay away from others as much as possible will be better and safer for everyone.
The Old Rock Café in Chimney Rock Village will be offering Meals-to-Go this weekend. Go to OldRockCafe.com for more information.
Please note that the trails at both the Eagle Rock and Rumbling Bald access areas outside of the Chimney Rock section of the Park will continue to stay open. For more information on these trails, go to www.ncparks.gov/chimney-rock-state-park.
As always, the health and well-being of our guests, our associates and our community is our top priority. We sincerely appreciate your support and understanding during these unprecedented times. We will all get through this together. Go to ChimneyRockPark.com for updates as they become available.
