Chimney Rock Park is open every day, weather permitting, except
Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Park opening and closing hours vary during the winter season. Please refer to the chart below for specific dates.

The Park remains open 1-1/2 hours after the Ticket Plaza closes.

Planning to visit later in the day? When you purchase your admission after 4pm, hold onto your receipt and it's good for admission the very next day at no additional cost!

*Group Rate discount is offered for groups of 20 or
more paying guests provided one person purchases all tickets for the
group in a single transaction at the Ticket Plaza. Reservations encouraged but not required.
Group shuttle bus service is available by reservation.
Reduced rates apply when the trail to Hickory Nut Falls is closed due to inclement weather or if there is no access to the Chimney (adults $9; youth $5).
We accept the GO Blue Ridge Card for admission, and the card is available for purchase at our Ticket Plaza and Old Rock Café.

So You’ll Know…
The views are accessible to everyone!
The easiest way to reach the Chimney is to ride the elevator up a 26-story shaft blasted through solid granite. The cool 198-foot tunnel to the elevator stays a comfortable 55-65 degrees year-round. You'll get a brief introduction to the Park from the elevator operator on your way up to the Sky Lounge – a gift shop and snack bar with a view! Then it's just a short distance across the clear-span bridge to the stairs to the Chimney. Trails and the Chimney itself are not accessible for folks in wheelchairs.
- Wheelchairs and baby backpacks are available.
- Use of strollers on trails is not recommended.
- There are no restroom facilities or water fountains along the hiking trails.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pets on a leash are welcome in all outdoor areas of the Park. They are not allowed in the elevator or Sky Lounge (NC state health law). Guide and service animals are permitted.
