Getting Here Is Half the Fun!
No matter where you’re coming from, you’ll have an adventurous drive on scenic mountain roads down into beautiful Hickory Nut Gorge. For maps and specific driving directions visit our Directions page.
When you arrive at the Park gate in Chimney Rock Village, drive across the bridge and continue one mile up to the Ticket Plaza. From the Ticket Plaza, it’s two more miles to the upper parking lot, elevator, trails and the Chimney. No walking or biking is allowed on the road up the mountain because it’s curvy and narrow with limited sight distance. Please drive safely.
Staying the Night?
Check out Area Information for great places to shop, stay, eat and play. The Park has partnered with several hotels, motels and B&Bs to create Package Deals that include overnight accommodations, tickets to the Park and other goodies, food and fun things to do at a great price! Packages are booked at participating accommodations.
Bringing Your Group?
We host a variety of groups including educational field trips, scout troops, churches, family and military reunions, car clubs, weddings and corporate outings. We are happy to customize special programs and events to meet your needs. Visit our Groups Section to see all we have to offer.
