Hiking, Climbing, Games, Music & More

Hiking
The Park is a great spot for folks of all ages and all athletic abilities. Hike up the mountain to the Opera Box and view Devil's Head. Others may want to stay on our moderate Hickory Nut Falls trail that leads to the bottom of Hickory Nut Falls. And in between is our 26-story elevator that will transport anyone up and down the mountain, so everyone can enjoy the breathtaking views from the Chimney level! The Great Woodland Adventure trail is great for families, and the Four Seasons trail connects to the Hickory Nut Falls trail.

Delve into Nature
Our team of Trail Associates can answer questions about the natural history, geology, flora and fauna of the Park.

  • Groups may book a guided hike with a Trail associate. One associate can guide up to 25 people. The amount of time depends on which trail you choose. Cost is $50 per tour.
  • Slide shows are available that highlight the wonderful natural aspects of our Park.
  • Trails programs — Nature, Wildflower, Old Growth Forest and Off the Beaten Path workshops and hikes guided by our specialists. Cost: workshop fees apply.

Kids’ Activities
Join Grady the Groundhog and his friends for a fun-filled day at the Park. Options include: Storytelling, Arts & Crafts and Nature Programs with birds, turtles, snakes, groundhogs and other wildlife. Additional fees apply.

Scavenger Hunt
Divide your group into teams to hunt through the Park to find answers about the history, geology and trails. Specific questions can be designed to lead your group through certain areas of the Park most suitable for your outing. Cost: $25 per group. Prizes are available for an additional fee.
