Take the Adventurous Route to the Chimney

Due to winter capital improvements, the Outcroppings and Skyline trails will be closed until spring 2012. There is currently no access to the Chimney and points of interest above, including the Opera Box, Devil’s Head and Exclamation Point. The elevator and Sky Lounge will also remain closed until spring 2012. Read more about improvements, winter hours and reduced admission here.

As an option to the elevator, or if you have your pet with you, take this network of stairs and boardwalks either to or from the Chimney level.

Most of our guests ride the 26-story elevator to the top, but we think the Outcroppings  offers some of the most interesting views in the Park. Plus, hiking the trail is a great way to get in a little extra exercise – it's the ultimate Stairmaster, after all.

But the greatest reward of hiking the Outcroppings trail is certainly bragging to your friends and family that you "took the road less traveled."
