Cool off in the Mist of Our Waterfall
NOTICE: The Hickory Nut Falls trail is currently closed for repairs due to a rockslide that caused significant damage to a footbridge and a large portion of the trail in November 2012. The plan is to reopen the waterfall trail, but due to unknown factors, no timeline has been established at present. Reduced admission rates are in effect. Read more about the trail closure.
It’s well worth the effort to get to the foot of Hickory Nut Falls, the second highest waterfall of its kind east of the Mississippi River. The falls can be reached by taking a gentle walk via the Hickory Nut Falls trail to a platform at its bottom. It's a cool, refreshing stop and a "must see" during your visit to Chimney Rock.
