Your Media Visit
2006 Media Admissions Policy
Chimney Rock Park is pleased to offer the following courtesies to working news media representatives:
- A maximum of three pre-arranged complimentary admission tickets per visit during regular business hours and/or for special events during the year (or after hours by special request).
- All complimentary admissions must be pre-arranged through the Park Office. With the exception of deadline-oriented coverage, a request for complimentary admission is requested 24-48 hours in advance so that we may verify credentials and gather any materials you may need for your story. The Park office is normally closed on weekends. Therefore, media passes requested for a Saturday or Sunday visit need to be made in advance. Unauthorized or unapproved media visits will not be granted complimentary admission into the Park. If you are on a deadline or there are deadline issues occurring within the Park on a weekend, please contact the Ticket Plaza at 828-625-9281 and an associate will get in touch with a member of management to assist you.
- Upon arrival to Chimney Rock Park, news media and their accompanying guests will check into the Ticket Plaza one mile inside the Park. You do not have to get out of your car, but you must identify yourself with either a media ID or business card to verify proof of identification.
- For safety and security purposes, camera and film crews (including still photography) working in the Park may at times need to be escorted by a Park associate, unless other arrangements are made ahead of time. We will provide special assistance where possible for transporting equipment and support personnel throughout the Park.
To expedite your visit and provide you with exactly what you need for your story, please request interviews with Park associates and specialists and photo sessions in advance of your visit so that we ensure availability to the people and places you prefer to meet/see. We will make every effort to honor your requests. Just let us know the following information as you plan your visit:
- Will a photo shoot be required?
- Will Park associates/specialists be interviewed or photographed?
- What is the nature of the interview?
- Any special needs such as phone line, electricity, security or makeup artists needed?
- Can the Park help by supplying additional background materials?
