Our Outdoor Classroom
The pages of textbooks come alive at Chimney Rock Park! Rich in natural resources, the Park opens a door to a new world of learning and discovery for students of all ages. Subjects studied in the classroom such as botany, geology and ecology are reinforced and expanded in this natural setting and literally come to life. Hands-on experiences about these and many other subjects add to the enjoyment—and learning potential—during a field trip to the Park.Come throughout the year—to hike, explore, and discover. We're more than happy to organize a special program that suits the needs of your group. We can arrange for special presentations, workshops, and other educational programs geared to your specified curriculum with advanced notice. Guided hikes along the Park's trails by our specialists are also available for a nominal fee of $50.00 for up to 25 people.

Our specialists conduct slide presentations, nature talks, and an orientation to the Park for groups of all levels that include information on the botany, ecology, wildlife and natural history of the Park. The programs are designed to meet the special needs of each group.
