Grady’s Wildlife of WNC
Dates: Oct 5th - Oct 6th, Oct 12th - Oct 13th, Oct 19th - Oct 20th, Oct 26th - Oct 27th
Time: 2pm
Cost: Included with Park admission
Ages: Fun for all ages
Meet some of Grady’s live woodland friends or possibly our birds of prey, a Red-tailed hawk and Great Horned Owl, and learn about their natural habitats. Programs vary. Held at 2pm in the Outdoor Classroom on the Meadows.
Annual Passholder Sunrise Breakfast
Dates: Oct 5th
Time: gate opens 6:15am for 7:25am sunrise
Cost: $5 for Adult Annual Passholders and Grady’s Kids Club Members; kids under five are admitted free
Few sights in Western North Carolina are as spectacular as watching the sun rise over Lake Lure in the fall! The Park opens early for Annual Passholders with the best seats in the area and a tasty continental breakfast of fruit, pastries, juice and hot coffee. Bring your camera or smartphone and upload your sunrise pictures to our Facebook page or submit them to our photo contest! Check out area accommodations on our website if you plan to stay overnight. To RSVP, please call 800-277-9611 by Oct. 1.

Fall Homeschool Day

Fall Homeschool Day is our most popular homeschool event of the year! Join our education specialists for fun, interactive programs in a 1000-acre outdoor classroom where learning comes alive. Multiple programs are offered for your students to experience a day of “fun learning” they won’t soon forget. All programs are designed to meet NC and SC curriculum standards. Shutterbugs Nature Photography Workshop
Dates: Oct 26th - Oct 27th
Time: 8:30am-4pm
Cost: Day 1: $90 or $65 Annual Passholders; Day 2 (with sunrise?): $100 or $75 Passholders; Both days: $170 or $135 for Passholders *Save $5 per day off full price if you register by Sept. 30!
Capture vibrant fall foliage, a 404-foot waterfall and up to 75-mile views with your camera at near-peak colors. It’s one of the region’s most affordable workshops. Led by pro photographer Jeff Miller, these two one-day workshops are tailored to individual experience, with more advanced concepts on day two. Topics include wide-angle, telephoto, macro and intimate landscapes; composition, inspiration, post-processing, critique and sharing your photos. Mr. Miller is an award-winning photographer published in regional, state and national publications with work exhibited throughout N.C.
